The 2009 edition of Mamaia festival hosted a premiere in the romanian music history: the release of the first romanian pop-opera album of the group Distinto.
On this double album one can find not only original songs of the four opera singers, but also collaborations with another famous romanian singer Nicola, with Ianna from the group Ladies, a great lyric soprano, or with Adrian Romcescu, a very valuable romanian composer and singer.
The four opera singers, Marius, Mihai, Tavi and Misha, chose to reinterpret great romanian and international hits in the pop-opera manner, that will define them from now on, as their style is unique in Romania. The best of surprises on this album is the featuring of Distinto with Francesco Napoli, on the well-known hit of the latter, Balla, which was sold in 17 million copies in the world.
All these collaborations were brought live on the scene of Mamaia festival, in a show both interesting and varied offered by the artists of Music Management, Distinto, Ladies, together with Adrian Romcescu and headlined by the famous Francesco Napoli.
The two beautiful girls from Ladies were dressed as true ladies, in some ellegant black and white suits, and they were the sexiest yet the most elegant element of the evening.
The Distinto show had its peak when the four boys called Francesco Napoli on the scene in order to perform together the great hit "Balla" ("Dance!"), also to be found on the new album of the pop-opera group. Francesco Napoli declaired: "I sang with these artists because they are gifted and I am sure they will be succesful."
The author of many international hits, Napoli did a wonderful show, full of energy, that raised all the people present there. The public wasn't afraid to sang each and every of the artist's songs, together with him, and made us want to hear more of the music of Francesco Napoli, and to welcome him anytime in Romania for another beautiful show.
Full of hope and very joyful, the group Distinto declaired: "We are very happy and excited that after all this work we managed to release this first album. Distinto is a dream came true and we wish this dream would never end."
The pioneers of the pop-opera style in Romania, the group Distinto is worth every bit of this succes they already began to taste, and their first album is worth being on the shelf of every true romanian's classic music collection. We wish them the best!
